⯌ Honesty Don’t lie or cheat. Let your word be your promise.
⯌ Courage Never fear to act, though caution is wise.
⯌ Compassion Aid others, protect the weak, and punish those who threaten them. Show mercy to your foes, but temper it with wisdom.
⯌ Honor Treat others with fairness, and let your honorable deeds be an example to them. Do as much good as possible while causing the least amount of harm.
⯌ Duty Be responsible for your actions and their consequences, protect those entrusted to your care, and obey those who have just authority over you.

Dawnbringer
Godfrey has tireless love for and unrockable faith in his God, Lathander. Lathander is a significant God with a wide portfolio. As the God of not the sun but the dawn, it is He one prays to after the birth of children, at the start of all endeavors and journeys, for the potential of a new and better day. Lathander is the God of the morning, youth, creativity, journeys, and self-perfection.
Lathanderian priests follow in their God's footsteps - doggedly determined and good. Lathander demands nothing less. Lathanderian worship is often characterized by not just exuberance and optimism, but constant altruism and self-improvement. Lathander did not even exempt Himself from these demands - Lathander demands of His clergy to constantly reexamine and evaluate the old ways of worship, using His worshippers for His own improvement as they use Him. A new day must never be wasted.
Though Godfrey holds himself aggressively to these standards, he also tempers his worship with wisdom and a critical eye. He is all too aware as to the consequences of the idealism that His worship could encourage, and he also is more mindful than most of his brothers and sisters where Lathander's extreme distaste for undead is concerned. He knows better than most that it is rarely a condition actively sought after.
